Dear Property Owner:
The Town of Woolwich is considering adoption of new State of Maine mandated Shoreland Zoning map amendments. At its next regular meeting, on March 1, 2010 at 7:30 p.m., the Woolwich Planning Board will be discussing scheduling a public hearing to be held on 5 April 2010 at 7:30 p.m.
The purpose of the public hearing will be to consider adopting map changes to add certain properties to the Resource Protection District. A copy of the proposed map amendments is attached to this notice. At the public hearing, the Planning Board will vote on whether to recommend the proposed map changes to a vote at the 2010 Annual Town Meeting.
Current Resource Protection requirements were presented by the Planning Board at the 2009 Annual Town Meeting and were accepted by vote of the town. If the map changes are adopted at this year's Town Meeting, your property (or a portion of your property) will be rezoned to Resource Protection and it will be subject to all of the requirements and restrictions of that zone.
If you have any questions about how these proposed map changes will affect your property, attendance at the March 1,2010 Planning Board meeting at the Woolwich Town Office will provide an early opportunity to raise these matters.
